Ministry of Hotels and Tourism Union of Myanmar |
Mingalaba!
It is a great pleasure for me to extend my warm greetings
to all international and national travellers visiting around the Union of Myanmar,
the golden land of natural wonders. All parts of the Union display the diversity
landscapes ranging from the majestic Khakaborazi, the grandeur of numerous temples
and pagodas in Bagan, the culture centre of Mandalay Palace, the magnificence
of the Shwedagon Pagoda and bustling metropolitan city of Yangon, the fascinating
scenic beauty of Inlay Lake, the unspoilt and sandy beaches of Ngapali, Chaungtha,
Ngwe Saung and the idyllic islands of Myeik Archipelago.
In fact, Myanmar is not only rich in culture but also in tradition. Rare flora
and fauna that thrive in protected areas and the finest precious gems make Myanmar,
the land of natural and cultural wonders.
The most precious treasure of Myanmar is also her people, friendly and hospitable,
sweet natured and sincere. Cultural and religious festivities which attract
visitors such as Thingyan, the Water Festival, Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda Festival
and the Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Festival make Myanmar, the land of cultural festivals.
Today, Myanmar is one of the wonders of Southeast Asia for you to explore and
experience. So, I warmly welcome you to travel around Myanmar, the golden land
of pagodas with my best wishes.
